Happy Holidays from the OpenChain Curriculum

Shane Martin Coughlan <shane@...>

Dear OpenChain contributors

Thank you for all of your hard work during 2016. We have moved from an idea to a community to a deployed reality in just a few months.

On the curriculum side of things we have seen great strides in the development of freely available, freely editable and freely sharable reference material. Our Release 2 slides have been out just over a week and already have received positive feedback and deployment in the field.

Indeed, our presents arrived early with contributions from Andrew Katz at Moorcrofts in the UK and Martin von Willebrand at HH Partners in Finland to help improve our slides. The working slides for Release 3, incorporating their comments, can be found here:

Moving into 2017 we will:
(1) Start review of the slides in January, with a focus on adjusting chapter 6 and deciding content for chapter 8.
(2) Aim to sync with the OpenChain Specification team in February to ensure we are correctly positioned for conformance.
(3) Take Release 3 of the curriculum slides live alongside OpenChain Specification 1.1 around end March / early April.

As a matter of style, please note that we used the PowerPoint slide notes for editing notes in the past. This is no longer possible due to including training notes throughout the slides. Therefore, as you contribute to the OpenChain Curriculum, please use the PowerPoint Comments (Insert > Comment on the ribbon menu) to add suggestions, ideas and corrections.

Take care all and thank you for a great 2016!

Regards

Shane
